RELIVE THE 2021 SEASON: ROUND 3

Fans were again in attendance in limited numbers as the series headed for Brands Hatch for round three of the campaign on the shorter Indy layout.

Qualifying saw Dan Rowbottom grab pole for the first time in his BTCC career ahead of Team Dynamics partner Gordon Shedden, with Jake Hill and Tom Oliphant sharing the second row of the grid.

Colin Turkington was amongst those to struggle as he had to settle for 14th after a session that saw 28 of the 29 drivers within a second of each other on the times.

Race 1:

A strong start for Oliphant saw him jump into the lead on lap one and the Team BMW driver led from there to the finish to grab victory, with Shedden following him home in second.

Rowbottom fluffed the start to drop down the order before recovering through to third at the finish ahead of Hill, Ash Sutton and Tom Ingram.

Race 2:

Oliphant looked set to double up in race two but a charging Ingram had other ideas – stealing the win with a move at Paddock Hill Bend on the final lap.

Sutton also sneaks through at the final corner to grab second ahead of the BMW, with Rowbottom, Josh Cook and Dan Lloyd rounding out the top six.

Race 3:

Race three saw a first win for Adam Morgan in the BMW as he took full advantage of the reverse grid draw to power to top spot on the podium.

Behind, there was a first podium for the Cupra in the hands of Jack Goff, with Aiden Moffat rounding out the top three.
