RELIVE THE 2021 SEASON: ROUND 4
Oulton Park played host to round four of the season, with the weekend being one that featured a number of dramatic incidents on track.
Qualifying was a hard fought affair with the top four drivers covered by less than a tenth of a second, with Senna Proctor emerging on top to grab pole from Gordon Shedden and Rory Butcher.
Race 1:
Shedden looked to be on course for victory in the opening as he jumped into the lead early on but a multi-car incident involving Tom Oliphant, Chris Smiley and Rick Parfitt saw the race red-flagged.
On the restart, Rowbottom gets ahead of his team-mate to lead a 1-2 for Team Dynamics with Adam Morgan grabbing third.
Ash Sutton, Colin Turkington, Josh Cook and Tom Ingram are all in the wars – the latter having started at the back after qualifying issues.
Race 2:
A stunning opening lap is key for Butcher as he goes from fourth to first to secure a maiden victory in Speedworks colours.
Rowbottom does well to take second despite the ballast on his car, with Morgan once again on the podium on what is proving to be a rare strong showing at his home circuit.
Race 3:
Race three features another red flag after a multi-car incident on lap one takes out four cars. Sutton then goes out on the opening lap of the restart as Proctor takes the win for BTC Racing ahead of Stephen Jelley and Shedden – with the race halted early after an off for Butcher and Carl Boardley.
